Sometimes, the drives aren't too bad. Sometimes, they're around a hundred miles, and then sometimes, they're right atso that can be exhausting. We always shoot SmackDown on Tuesdays. I was just talking to a couple of friends of mine, and it's so bizarre how my entire life, I was so used to getting to bed at a decent hour — going to bed at 10 and waking up at 5 or 6 or whatever — but even when I'm home, now I usually can't fall asleep until 3 or 4, even if I'm just sitting up watching TV.
Usually, those Tuesday nights, I struggle to get to sleep anyways. I sleep a couple hours, get on a flight and then go back home. There's a decent amount of us who like to do other stuff and be busy in our home lives. For me at least, there's a need for normalcy when I get home. I've always been a homebody. When I get home, it's just a matter of doing the chores that I read article to do to get back on the road and then just Who Is Big E Langston Hookup down in front of some Netflix or college football.
I love college football. For me, there isn't a lot of going out or really utilizing the visibility I've had on TV to do a lot of cool stuff. It's just [about] wanting to get away.

We're always so connected to who we are on-screen. We're not like actors in a traditional sense in that they can do a role for a few months and then escape into another role, so people see their onscreen identities as more fluid [and] don't connect them for the most part to who that individual is, but people always see me as Big E.
You always have to be polite even when you've only slept an hour and a half and have to get on a plane and see people in the airport at 5 in the morning. That's something we're always cognizant of: Not that [Big E is] a huge difference from who I am as an individual, but after a while, it's a little weird to always be so connected to who you are on-screen.
How do you pass the time while traveling? Kofi and Xavier are well known to be video gamers, and I know you partake, too; in a recent interview, you mentioned buying a PS4 soon. What are you into nowadays? Xavier has this Gaems case.

You just can't be stuck in the ebbs and flows of wrestling, of match outcomes, so gaming's been great for us. I consider myself a gamer — not quite to the extent of Woods and Kofi, but it definitely helps us pass some time.
I love watching TV. Right now, it's a highlight of the year for me because a bunch of the shows I enjoy are coming back. I just watched the premiere of "House of Lies.

When you mentioned shows coming back, my first thought was HBO's "Girls. Yeah, actually, I don't want to admit that I like Girls, but a girl I was dating a while ago got me to start watching "Girls. I went to [the University of] Iowa so I got a little excited that this season takes place at the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, so it's cool to see some stuff that will be shot in Iowa City, I believe. I'm a little disappointed, actually; I think [the school] banned them from shooting stuff on campus.
I was excited to see some of the old buildings that I had classes in on TV, but I think there's still some stuff shot in Iowa City. Hopefully, [my being a fan of "Girls"] doesn't kill any lingering street cred. I like Shoshanna 'cause she's so frenetic.
I think I'd go with Shoshanna. How about eating on the road? What do you tend to eat, and are there any restaurants you favor over others?
We find ourselves stopping at Denny's a lot. They've got a new set of Skillets that really caught our eye, so that's something to look forward to. For me, it's a matter of getting as much protein as possible. I try to get about grams of protein a day, and I carry probably about a half-pound of whey protein on the road to supplement in-between meals.
For the most part, I try to keep my carbs down and eat a decent amount of protein. On the road, you get used to places that are open click to see more shows at 1 or 2 in the morning, and then trying to eat as clean as possible.
I will admit to not having the cleanest of diets, and that's something I'm working on. Being a thicker human being, protein's essential Who Is Big E Langston Hookup food like] a decent amount of burgers with no bun. Last week, I went to Waffle House and got 14 scrambled eggs.

I don't know if that's that weird to other people, but for us, it was very weird.
The rest of the day, we were amazed that simultaneously, we said, "a hearty wave. Going back to before you signed to WWE and hit the road, what's been the biggest change in your life since this journey started? Just being recognized is strange to me. I think celebrity is too big of a word; famous is also a strange word to use. It's very strange to me that people want my autograph or that people would want a picture with me. I get it when we're at the buildings — that's what people pay for — but even when I'm home or at places I don't expect to see fans, people are excited to see me.
I've always been an introvert, just kind of grew up [with] a very quiet childhood. It's a very bizarre proposition to think that people would tremble [in front of me]. That happens sometimes — not just kids but with adults. You see people struggling to keep their hands steady as they're giving you something to sign. It's such a strange thing to think about.
I think it has something to do with being on television and being transferred from this digital image to something that's in physical, human, touchable form is kind of surreal for people. It's almost like a video game character stepping out of the screen and standing in front of you. Following is an interview with wrestler Ettore Ewan done before the show's cancellation.
